People say using different launchers is just like shopping at different stores but that's just not true. which is hilarious they think I have a degree in computer hacking. Uplay customer service told me they "strongly urged against the use of vpn to access their servers" and that I needed to "fix my local internet settings" by "forwarding ports". It's such a hassle to use a vpn if all you need it for is to download and update one game. I went through all this with assassins creed odyssey and vowed not to buy from Uplay again. Q : Why is it so complicated to convert between Steam and uPlay Version ?Ī : Well because UBISOFT doesn't care if the Locate Installed Game button work or not, they simply want us to redownload the game to make sure the integrity of the game is in good shape.I bought crew 2 on the epic store thinking I could avoid this issue but no, I still can't download or update the game without using a vpn service (Epic downloads the game, then uplay makes you redownload it).
Q : Why uPlay said i need an Active connection and sufficient space to start the download?Ī : Make sure the new folder's permission is available for all user � Andddd wait for the uPlay to verify and update the game � Go press the Download button at the R6S Game Tab and locate the new folder. � Run uPlay client via Administrator right (Run as Administrator) Install it at Default location which the Installer provide. � After that, uPlay should be ready to install. � Copy everything in the Steam version of R6S and paste it in the new folder that we created ( You can choose cut and paste if You doesn't want to keep the Steam Version) � Create a new folder at another location and name it with the same name AKA Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege (Copy from the folder name is the easiest way) � While the uPlay client is downloading, head to the R6S Game file ( Usually located in C:/Program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege) � First, download uPlay client from the official uPlay website and make sure Your harddisk have enough space (Minimum 50GB) Hi, I created this thread to help those who play in cyber cafe that only Steam Version of R6S are available
